The “100 Greatest Modern World Coins” is a remarkably interesting book. It’s loaded with great pictures as to why the coin is historical. You can learn why the Ireland Silver Half Crown is #36. It tells about the 5-year struggle Ireland had to gain their independence from Great Britian. Or the background on the 1931 Panama Silver Balboa, from the 1800’s to the construction of the Panama Canal.

The book is laid out very nicely. Each coin and its history are on 2 pages, so when you open the book, there’s no need to turn a page for that specific coin. Lots of great pictures along with the article.

I now have a book request form to fill out if there is any coin-related book you would like to see in the library. The blank form will be on the raffle table at the meetings. Just fill it out and give to me at the meeting. Please check the current inventory on the website or the printed copy in the door of the library cabinet to ensure we don’t have the book now.

As a reminder, books checked out are due back in 3 months. There are yellow reminder slips to use if needed to remind you of the date you checked out the book and when it’s due back.
