My Areas of Numismatic Interest

Collecting replacement notes, most commonly known as “Star Notes,” has excited me since I first discovered them in 2009. My first star note came from Scott’s Coin Store in Portage, MI.

Most of the Star Notes in my collection I have picked out of circulation. They are heavily circulated ranging from good to very fine.

If you know me as a collector, that’s what I collect. Uncirculated coins are great. Crisp banknotes are beautiful. Circulated coins and tattered paper money tell a story. I’m in it for the story.

The two Star Notes pictured are the newest additions to my collection. They are great examples of modern large Star Notes. The Silver Certificate has a large blue star-super collectable and just fun to see. The red star on the Series 1928 F stands out even on a heavily circulated banknote.

Curious aboutStar Notes? This is a very exciting branch of numismatics.
